Francisco Gonzalez Camacho
Francisco Gonzalez Camacho is a Spanish artist based in Finland. He combines photography with printmaking techniques, and Nordic nature is his main subject. His themes include materiality, immigration and the link between landscape and self.

His series You can’t enter the same river twice takes its title from the Greek philosopher Heraclitus, who wrote about constant change. The photographs focus on landscapes just before they change, such as a shoreline about to collapse into the water or a sandbar starting to form.

These processes happen over geological time, usually with no one there to see them. Erosion and sedimentation were shaping the land long before photography existed.

Gonzalez Camacho has shown at Saatchi Gallery in London and at the Finnish Museum of Photography. His work is in the collections of the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts in Japan and the Griffin Museum of Photography in the US, and it has appeared in Der Greif and Booooooom.
