Emily Tayman
Emily Tayman is a self-taught painter who grew up in Maryland and now splits her time between California and Lisbon. She has been painting for 14 years.
Tayman previously focused on murals and painted them in several states, including projects for city governments. Her work has been covered on news channels and in magazines across the US. Recently she stepped back from murals to concentrate on canvas.
Her current series, Reveries of Muse, shows women in mid-century interiors. The figures are still while their thoughts are somewhere else. Around them there are small signs of movement, like smoke in the air or a ringing phone.
