Patryk Hadas grew up with a foot in two worlds: the settled comfort of Germany and the raw economic boom of Poland in the early 2000s. That split stayed with him, and it comes up all through his work, in the small frictions, desires, and memories of daily life.

His ongoing project, At 21 We Were Immortal, follows one close relationship formed young and tested over twenty years. He goes back to that feeling of being young and untouchable, and treats the relationship as both a refuge and a long, shared struggle. Closeness, memory, and tension are his real subjects.

Hadas is a Polish-German artist based in Berlin and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.
