C WEST is a singer-songwriter and abstract painter, born in Buffalo, New York, and now based in Atlanta. He started drawing at twelve, sketching portraits of Michael Jackson while the music played. He studied art and voice at the Buffalo Academy and later at Villa Maria College. In seventh grade he won the City of Buffalo's art show for a hand-drawn portrait of Barack Obama.

Music was his first love. He signed his first major-label record deal in 2016 and pursued it professionally. In 2021, he and his family became seriously ill from black mold in their home, and he developed a severe case of eczema that covered his entire body and made ordinary tasks painful. He started painting during that period. It became a place of focus and release, and eventually of healing.

C WEST paints abstract work in layers of color and texture. He writes words into the paintings, sometimes clear on the surface, sometimes hidden, using them to tell his own stories. The work is his way of processing faith and healing.

He lives in Atlanta with his wife Katie and their three children. His paintings have been shown in Atlanta galleries and at the Ritz-Carlton, and held in private collections in the US and Canada.
