Enter Art Fair, Copenhagen
August 27–30
Enter Art Fair opens its sixth edition at Øksnehallen. Around 60 galleries show, mostly Nordic, with a handful of international names mixed in. It runs before most of the art world has come back from summer.
Frieze Seoul + Kiaf Seoul
September 2–6
Frieze's fifth edition here, running alongside Kiaf, South Korea's own longest-running fair, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. More than 125 galleries from 30 countries.
RendezVous, Brussels Art Week
September 10-13
Galleries across the city open their doors on the same weekend, split into two tours, one through the commercial spaces, one curated through the city's institutions. Talks, studio visits and screenings fill out the rest of the program.
Busan + Gwangju Biennale, South Korea
Aug. 29 - November 1, September 6 - November 15
Two of Asia's longest-running biennials open the same week Frieze Seoul wraps up. Busan runs its 13th edition, Gwangju its 16th.
Sydney Contemporary
September 3–6, at Carriageworks
Australasia's largest art fair marks its tenth edition this year. More than 100 galleries and 500-plus artists show inside the former Eveleigh Railway Workshops.
Berlin Art Week, Berlin
September 9–13
Berlin runs its museums and galleries on one shared calendar this week, all opening new shows within days of each other. POSITIONS Berlin, the fair at the center of it, sets up inside Tempelhof Airport.
Tokyo Gendai, Yokohama
September 11–13, at Pacifico Yokohama
Tokyo Gendai lands the week directly after Frieze Seoul. This year's edition adds a new section for works on paper and photography. All inside a convention center just outside Tokyo.
The Armory Show, New York
September 24–27, at the Javits Center
The Armory Show opens the American season at the Javits Center. Around 200 galleries take over two piers for the week. This year it moved later on the calendar.
Contemporary Istanbul
September 23–27, at Lütfi Kırdar
Contemporary Istanbul built around galleries from Turkey, the wider region and Europe showing side by side. Nearly two decades in, it's still the main entry point into the Turkish market for international buyers.
